Christmas Shopping 2016
Katie reflects on this year's best ever Corbridge Christmas Shopping night.....
Corbridge held it’s traditional late night shopping event on Monday night, and what a night it was!
The weather was perfect, cold and crisp and very seasonal. The shops and businesses stayed open late, serving mulled wine and goodies to customers. We had a market place full of pop up food stalls, Santa’s sleigh and the wonderful choirs singing Carols. There was such a buzz in the village as families and friends enjoyed an evening of local businesses and admiring the Christmas tree competition in St Andrews church – there was even a queue out the door!
Katie Kerr was busy all day and it was lovely to greet our customers with a glass of Gluwein and a bit of Christmas cheer. And did we mention our Silver award in the Christmas tree competition? Now taking pride of place in number 22 Hill Street for all to admire!
Corbridge feels all the more special this week, a year on from the unwelcome visit by storm Desmond. The community is so strong and supportive and it is a joy to spend this festive time here…. With dry feet…..
